Pokhara’s classic viewpoint at about 1,600 m, facing the Annapurna range.
Our suggestion: arrive before first light and stay after sunrise, the colours keep changing.
Source ↗Sarangkot is the ridge rising above the north shore of Phewa Lake. At about 1,600 metres, its viewpoint faces a long line of Himalayan peaks. Dhaulagiri in the west, the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre straight ahead, with the lake and city below.
We collect you in the dark, drive about 30 minutes up the ridge and walk a few minutes to the viewpoint in time for sunrise. When the peaks turn from pink to gold, enjoy tea and breakfast with the view before returning to Lakeside.
If you like, walk down to Lakeside instead of driving, a pleasant 1.5-hour descent through villages and forest.
