Begnas and Rupa are the second and third largest lakes of the Pokhara valley, about 45 minutes east of Lakeside. They are calmer than Phewa, surrounded by rice terraces, fish farms and forest, with the Annapurna range to the north on clear days.
The day combines a boat ride on Begnas, a gentle walk along the Panchabhaiya ridge that separates the two lakes, and time at Rupa Lake before driving back to Pokhara.
