Langtang Valley

A lodge-based trekking option approached by road from the Kathmandu side, rather than directly from Pokhara.

Route shape

The usual road approach is towards Syabrubesi, followed by walking stages up the valley towards Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa. Side walks depend on time and readiness.

Time and pace

Allow approximately 8–10 days from Kathmandu as an initial planning range, adjusted for road access, pace and acclimatisation. Add travel time from Pokhara.

Stays

Village lodges support the main trail. Confirm current room availability, meals and luggage arrangements.

Transport

Road access and vehicle suitability must be checked. A Pokhara-to-Kathmandu connection can be arranged separately from the trailhead transfer.

Documents and flexibility

Confirm park entry and relevant TIMS/guide arrangements. Keep spare time for road or weather disruption.

Documentation: Nepal Tourism Board lists revised TIMS and licensed-guide provisions for specified routes, including several Annapurna treks. Requirements depend on your itinerary and nationality; confirm them with the agency and relevant authority. Read NTB guidance. For Annapurna conservation permits, see NTNC permit information.
