Planning scope

A classic approach uses Lukla and the trail through Namche Bazaar, followed by staged ascent towards the upper valley and base camp. Flight arrangements and possible delays need a separate plan.

Time and pace

An initial allowance is around 14–16 days for the trekking journey, plus transfer and weather contingency time. Your guide must plan acclimatisation rather than simply compressing the route.

Lodges and preparation

Accommodation is generally lodge-based. Cold, altitude, trail conditions and limited high-altitude services require preparation and a flexible schedule.

How we can help

Ask us about coordinated transfers, guide and trek arrangements through suitable partners. Pokhara vehicle hire does not cover the mountain walking stages.

Current checks

Check park/local entry documentation, flight operation, guide arrangements and insurance suitable for the planned activity and altitude before booking.

Documentation: Nepal Tourism Board lists revised TIMS and licensed-guide provisions for specified routes, including several Annapurna treks. Requirements depend on your itinerary and nationality; confirm them with the agency and relevant authority. Read NTB guidance. For Annapurna conservation permits, see NTNC permit information.
